Romanians of New England Fair – Report

The first annual Romanians of New England Fair was a great success. This event, organized by the Association of Romanians in New England (AR-NE), took place on Saturday, the 4th of December 2010, in the three studios made available through the generosity of the International Ballet Academy of Norwell, (www.IBANorwell.org), at 34 Accord Park Dr, Norwell MA.

The fair took place between 4PM and 8PM and included individual stands for participating organizations in Studio I, a common stand for those organizations that could not attend with a representative, presentations in Studio II, as well as a separate room and Studio III dedicated to children’s activities. More than 20 Romanian organizations and professionals from New England participated, either with individual stands or by sending materials for display at the common stand (promotional materials, CDs for sale, etc).

Hors d’oeuvres were served while the pianist Ciprian Costin offered the crowd a little holiday music to end the evening. The impressions we received from participating organizations were positive, suggesting that the Fair can serve to bring the community together and make it more interconnected. Those asked declared their interest in participating in next year’s Fair. If you’d like to share your opinion with us, please fill out the questionnaire about the Fair , where you may also request a link to the complete album of photographs taken during the event. The photographs published on this site, below, represent a small selection.

During the event AR-NE made a presentation with a quick summary of previous and future activities, emphasizing that the new organization depends on members and volunteers to function. The role of members is vital, since they elect the Board of Directors, decide the priorities of AR-NE, and support projects and activities either by volunteering or financially (donation, yearly membership).

We wish to thank the sponsors of this event, listed below, as well as the many volunteers who offered to help: Alina Tudor, Aurel Velicanu, Ciprian Costin, Daniel Viocila. We hope to have similar support at next years Fair, currently planed for the first Saturday of December (December 3, 2011), where we hope to see you and your friends and family.

We hope you will continue to follow our activities, consider become a member or joining our team, and we hope to see you at our next events in 2011.

Thank you,

The Team of AR-NE Volunteers.
