“On the occasion of the Romanian Language Day, I wish to congratulate all those who speak, write
and read Romanian. This celebration is another opportunity to promote the values that bind Romanian
speakers because through the language we preserve the culture, traditions and history.
The fact that Romanian language became an official language of the European Union is a matter of pride
to our identity. Romanian Language Day is a time to celebrate a symbol of our national identity. Over
time, the language has been connecting element of Romanian historical provinces, and now is a bridge
among all Romanians, regardless of where they live.”
